House hunting
This is how it's progressing:
I find a house online using www.grar.com
Me: Look at this one honey, its below market value and we can fix it up and sell it.
Him: It's too far south.
Me: How about this one, it looks nice.
Him: It's too far from the high way.
Me: This one has a nice interior.
Him: I don't like the yard.
Him: Look for something north or towards the lake.
Me: There are exactly two houses in our price range in the next county over. Which one do you want.
At this rate, we'll be getting a house in about 5 years... I'm not sure we can find one we agree on before that.

Well, at least you know you wont have to "settle" for something one of you wont like! Besides, maybe if it takes 5 years, you can have save up a bigger down payment so you'll pay less on the mortgage :)
Joe's got a good point. Or maybe you should just look for some land and build your own house?
We don't have that much money to buy land and then pay to build a house too. Building a house is something that's on, oh say, the 20 year plan. Much more economical right now to find a house we can both agree on, maybe fix it up, and resell it in a few years or maybe rent it out and buy a different house.
money schmoney... just take all those pennies your Money Fairy leaves lying around your house and you'll have enough saved up to build a house in what, 50 years?
Or my money fairy could just kick it up a notch and start leaving me quarters! Or better yet, those gold dollar coins! That would be nice. Then we could build a house in maybe 30 years! ;)
