Frozen
Our property is beautiful in winter. Even when it's buried under several feet of snow... The pine trees are what really makes our backyard beautiful anyway.
I've been missing seeing Bessey sitting on our back doorstep and seeing his little footprints in the snow. There's a stray cat who leaves footprints, but it's just not the same as the late Bessey.
I'm enjoying my new job. Mainly, I am enjoying the fact that I have a job. As our economy in MI gets worse and worse, I am ever more thankful that I have a job that does not depend on tips from strangers anymore. Schools around here have had 10 snow days so far and I'm thankful that I am able to work everyday regardless of the weather. Even though sometimes I wish I could have a snow day when it takes me an hour and a half to drive the 20 miles to work.
I am also thankful to have a house with a woodburning stove in the living room so that we can keep our heating bill down. And to have 5 acres with lots of trees, so we always have lots of wood to burn.
I am thankful to have a home right now, when foreclosures are at occuring at an alarming rate. Don't get me wrong, we are on an extremely tight budget. But at least, right now, we do not have to worry about losing our home.
Hmmmm. Turns out that I'm thankful for a lot right now. Who knew? Must be because I'm sitting in front of the fire with Tigger purring on my lap. :)
