Taxes - part 5 million
So I started my taxes in January.... And I discovered that Jason and I need to file separately. If we filed together Jason would get back about $2600 less. Egads! So I figure I owe money again this year and I'm in no rush to file.
So fast forward about two months. I work on the taxes again. And I discover that the more places I drove for lia sophia, the less money I have to pay! Woo hoo! Oh Crap. Now I have to figure out the miles I put on my car. I work on that for a couple of weeks.
Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I finally have the mileage figured out. I put it into the Turbo Tax program. Sweet. I owe a helluva lot less. But I still owe, so I plan on mailing my check so that I don't have to pay the $18 to e-file through Turbo Tax. I print out my taxes and staple my W-2s and put in the check. Done. Course I don't mail it yet.
Fast forward to this past weekend. Now that taxes are done, I decide to tackle cleaning our spare room/laundry room/office/lia sophia office/cat bedroom. I find more receipts for lia sophia: Post office... dollar store... Wal-mart... you name it, I've got more receipts for it. Woo hoo! Oh crap. Now I have to re-do my finished taxes.
Fast forward to tonight....
I got home from work. Made cheesy scalloped potatoes (from a box), broccoli (frozen), and pan seared a lightly floured chicken breast in herbed olive oil and rosemary (that I actually made myself!) for dinner for the two of us. YUM. After we did the dishes it was time for BONES! Woo hoo! It's back!!!! Oh Bones, how we missed thee! We're looking forward to the last 3 episodes like you wouldn't believe. And we're looking forward to the DVD release 'cause we are going to get it the day it comes out.
Anyway. After Bones, I finally did my taxes. Again. For the five millionth time. And now they're done and printed out and I have to re-write my check to the government 'cause it's for about $150 less (woo hoo!!!) and get it in the mail tomorrow for the deadline.
Moral of the story - I'm thinking that maybe I should keep my receipts in a centralized location for next year so I only have to do taxes maybe once...
